why do people work?
Many scholars have argued that labor does not simply have an economic meaning I also think that labor should include various productive meanings, such as self-realization and social cohesion.
In modern society, however, labor has degenerated into just painful but tolerable activity for money. The 'retirement trend' proves this. People abhor labor that makes them suffer, and few workers will feel happy through their works.
But workers don't just quit and give up labor, they find jobs that will enable self-realization. This phenomenon, in which Retired people loathe labor but continue to seek true labor, proves that labor is not only an economic meaning but an essential element of life as a human being.
Your posting seems to have picked out a very important part. I agree and feel very sorry that labor has degenerated into a tolerable activity for money in modern society. However, I think it is fortunate that the world is increasingly turning into a trend to find jobs that can enable self-realization.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that labor should include various productive qualities such as self-fulfilling! It is regrettable that in modern society, labor has degenerated into a tolerable activity for money. I want people to work for various reasons, such as self-fulfilling.
ReplyDeleteWhether labor is combined with my happiness seems to be an important factor. Those who think money is happiness will focus on what jobs I can earn a lot of money for, but such comments as "big company employees quit early" certainly show that it is more important to realize my own life and what I wanted than money.
