2-4 Why study history?

History is so important to us as history is a required subject for the CSAT in Korea. Interest in history is also rising as historical songs once gained huge popularity. Why do we learn history?
 
It is to avoid repeating the same mistake Many of the accidents that are happening now have happened similarly in the past. Past ancestors used their wisdom to overcome hardships and adversity. For example, Admiral Yi Sun-shin became a hero who saved Joseon by blocking the advance of Japan during the Japanese Invasion of Korea. Also, Ahn Jung-geun shot Itohirobumi, the person in charge of the unjust treaty. Through the appearances of past heroes, we learn lessons and learn from our actions.
It is also for reflection. In the past, the corrupt official used to bully the people and make them miserable. As a result, the people revolted. As such, corruption in a country causes great confusion in society History reflects on the corruption of the past and suggests what direction we should move.
 
As the saying goes, "There is no future for a nation that has forgotten history," history is an essential subject that one should understand as a nation living in the world. The present exists because of history and the future exists because of the present.

Sum mary   Deviation refers to the act of violating cultural norms. Violating the law is usually called an official deviation, and the act of violating informal social norms is called an informal deviation. Deviation can vary considerably depending on culture. Deviations defined by sociologists have many forms. Merton suggested a type of deviant behavior. According to him, the type of deviation is presented based on two criteria. The first condition is the adherence to personal motivation or cultural goals. The second condition is the individual's belief in how to achieve the goal. By selecting these conditions as Yes or No, there are four types and one additional type. The four types appear to be suitability, innovation, realism, and retro. Dramaturgy (Sociology)

1. Summary -       Dramaturgy is a sociological perspective commonly used in micro-social explanations of social interactions in everyday life. In drama sociology, it is argued that the elements of human interaction depend on time, place and courtesy. The dramatic view is one of several sociological paradigms separate from other sociological theories because it analyzes context rather than examining the causes of human behavior. In the dramatic model, social interaction is analyzed in such a way that people live their lives like actors acting on stage. There are also seven important factors identified by Goffman regarding performance. The steps represent three areas (front, back, outside) where you can find multiple individuals with different roles and information.
