Week 8(Extra) Do you like the idea of internet voting? Why or why not?

Image
Do you like the idea of internet voting? Why or why not? I'm against Internet voting. To be honest with you, they are 'not yet' opposed. There is only one reason. This is because voting on the Internet can be wrong due to errors. The reason I said "not yet" is because I think we can spread Internet voting when the chances of such errors are really small due to the technology's further development. And although Internet voting is still possible, I think it has not been realized yet because there must be some problems that these points bring. There will be many advantages if you vote on the Internet after technology advances. First of all, it will be of great help to those who could not vote because they can vote even if they don't go to the voting place. People who are subject to isolation, like the Corona phenomenon, will be able to vote easily. That is why I hope that Internet voting will spread once the system is settled as soon as possible.

Week 2 (Extra) Why do people work?

Image
Why do people work? Why do people work? Why are they trying to accomplish something? There are two main reasons. To make money, or honor. However, the average person will work because they need money to live by properly solving food, clothing, and shelter. He works every day, struggling to make money for things he doesn't do well, things he doesn't really care about. All education until elementary, middle and high schools, and college, is ultimately aimed at finding jobs. But this is not all the reason for doing things. Some people work for fame, ie for power. To achieve something in a higher position, he constantly works and tries to create a society that grows and grows on its own. In addition, people who want to make any contribution to society work. I am trying to change the hard work, the things that need to be improved. Work is one of the things we really find hard and sometimes don't want to do and want to rest, but there is a reason why each person works, so f...

Week 9(Extra) How can we reduce the suicide rates in Korea?

Image
How can we reduce the suicide rates in Korea? I think one of the biggest reasons for the constant suicide phenomenon in Korea is that it is difficult to live properly in society. There are so many demands from society and they are having a hard time getting a job, so people who are stressed out in this area often choose to commit suicide. In addition, they are forced to make extreme decisions when they are in a difficult situation, such as being too poor economically or being pressed for debt. However, there is no way we can reduce this suicide rate. Making a better society, helping each other and giving to those in need is the best way for me as a student. However, if the government tries to present policies or solutions for the people in difficult situations at the national level, I think there will certainly be a big change in the suicide rate.

Week 13(Extra) How many foreigners live in korea? where are they from?

Image
How many foreigners live in korea? where are they from? There are many foreigners living in Korea. Especially in areas where many foreigners reside, the proportion is increasing to the point where the distribution is similar to that of Koreans. Many foreigners come from Asian countries such as South Africa, China, Japan, and Vietnam, and in addition, very few come from countries such as the United States and Britain. As China and Japan are closely related to Korea, the percentage of residents is high, and people in South Africa and Vietnam are often living in Korea by getting jobs, indicating that they are living in Korea.

Make up class 3-What did I learn from this class?

Image
What did I learn from this class? First of all, when I first took this course, I was really ignorant about the field of sociology. There was little I knew and no expectation at all, thinking that I would learn about society in a boring way. But I came across this lecture with the idea of learning once and I could change my first thought. Sociology was an in-depth study that talked more deeply about topics related to us than we thought and was closely related to our lives. I was able to define my own sociology thinking that it would be "social studies" to deal with all the things and situations that could happen in the current society where I live. In particular, I was able to broaden my basic knowledge even if I did not study sociology as I was exposed to information organized into various parts, such as positivity, negation, past events, present, etc. Because it was so different from my thoughts, I was surprised and learned through every class and assignment. And I was...

Make up class-2 Introduction to Sociology_Demography

Image
Introduction to Demography 1. Summarize  Human statics is the study of the size, structure and distribution of the population and how it changes over time due to birth, death, migration and aging. Why should we be aware of demographics? Demographics is a powerful tool for explaining various sociological phenomena. Before talking about complex theories to illustrate macro social phenomena, sociologists should first use demographic indicators for possible explanations. Demographics are mainly based on data derived from census and statistics. Statisticians focus primarily on changes in the population, so they are interested in specific indicators to prove changes. Two of the most important indicators are birth and death rates, and they also analyze migration trends and changes in people moving to other regions. It is important to note that statistical understanding of social structures and patterns is changing, mainly because it is difficult to achieve accurate numerical values. ...

Make up class-1 Introduction to Sociology_Technology, the Internet, and Virtual Worlds

Image
Introduction to Technology, Internet and Virtual Worlds 1. Summarize  Technology is built into machines, computers, devices and factories and systems are configured to operate without detailed knowledge. With the advancement of technology, electronic products such as electric cars, computers, and mobile phones can be used today. Mobile phones are developed from phones that were used to connect to telephone lines, and are now a multi-functional machine that can utilize various functions such as search, phone, and text anywhere with just one small device. Cell phones have changed social customs. Unofficial social norms have arisen in conjunction with the use of cell phones in public situations. There are situations when people shouldn't be using cell phones, but not all people have the same idea about them. With the advancement of technology, video games have also become enormously advanced. This has a positive effect of improving visual attention, but on the contrary, there are...

Week 13-2 Introduction to Sociology_Race and Ethnicity

Image
Introduction to Race and Ethnicity 1. Summarize  Race means the physical difference of a human being that is actually or imagined to be separate. Race is mainly classified according to the color of the skin, facial features, etc. It is also classified according to the social characteristics shared by mankind. There are nationality, tribe, religion, language, culture, etc. But ethnicity is a little different from race. Ethnicity focuses on the connection between the perceived past and culture. There are about 50 ethnic minorities in China and Hispanics are among the ethnic minorities in the United States. The initial understanding of race was generally essential and taxonomic. Racial differences continue because they are a matter of constant importance in society and politics. However, discrimination is serious depending on race. And many races are still fighting to improve it. 2. Interesting When you think of racial discrimination, white and black relationships are the biggest ...

Week 13-1 Introduction to Sociology_Gender

Introduction to Gender 1. Summarize  Gender means a statement of common understanding and discriminatory social status about the composition of masculine and feminine behavior. The concept of gender arises and is dependent on behavioral expectations and norms. It is as if the actor prepared for the play as if he were acting in charge of gender. There are certainly physiological differences in gender. I don't know how it exists, but there is a difference. There is also a difference between men and women in education. It is an "educational achievement," in which men who have long been exclusively educated have increasingly been given educational opportunities for women, and are now equally educated regardless of gender. As such, there are many differences depending on gender, but differences and differences are different. Differences should be respected, but discrimination should not exist. 2. Interesting Typically gender discrimination is a typical unequal situation c...

Week 12-2 Social inequality

Image
Social inequality 1. Summarize  Social inequality occurs when people cause certain patterns according to socially defined categories. It is a discriminatory preference for social reuse in many areas. Social inequality can be interpreted as a lack of equal access to opportunities, although outwardly it means a lack of equality of results. In particular, it can be seen that there are frequent cases of inequality in the social stratification society that we have learned earlier. Typically, inequality occurs in gender (male and female), race, ethnicity, age, health, and the world. The inequality between men and women is still a manifestation of our lives. We have made a lot of efforts to improve from the past to the present, and we are still trying, but it does not seem easy to completely break the mold. Not only that, but the same is true of inequality in other areas. In society, I think that inequality occurs depending on the situation. However, we should not take this for gra...

Week 12-1 Social stratification

Social stratification 1. Summarize  Social stratification refers to a society that classifies people into groups based on socio-economic factors. Layering is a relative social position and applies within social groups, geographic areas, and social units. It begins with the Latin class, which classifies based on factors such as wealth, income, social status, occupation, etc. The social classes are divided into the upper, middle, and lower classes. Although no official social class is revealed now, the standards for the upper, middle and lower classes are still clearly embedded. There is a principle given when dividing classes, and social stratification is first defined as an asset of society. Layering is reproduced from generation to generation and has a universal but variable nature. Finally, social stratification includes quantitative inequality and qualitative beliefs and attitudes. The social stratification that we know as a representative is the Marxist theory. Marxism, def...

Week 11-2 Dramaturgy

Image
Dramaturgy 1. Summarize  Drama sociology argues that human interaction depends on time, place, and audience. It mainly means the dramatic effect from the immediate scene. Dramatic oligopoly is one of several social and academic paradigms. The role in the play is organized through an agreement between the actor and the audience, and social interaction in dramatic situations refers to living one's own life like a role played on stage. Managing the environment, clothing, and horses suitable for the role in real life is called 'exposure management'. Exposure management is said to consist of defense and protection techniques, and defense techniques are used before interaction is initiated and involved. Protection techniques are also used to minimize risk, especially by anticipating problems that may occur. The first drama production began to express the way social movements convey power. However, what needs to be dealt with in the play continues to appear on the backstage. Th...

Week 11-1 Symbolic interactionism

Image
Symbolic interactionism  1. Summarize  It is a theory that has long been learned about symbolic interaction has long been learned. There are five central contents in symbolic interaction. Human beings should become social people. Human beings should be what they think. 3 Humans define their situation. 4 The cause of human behavior is the result of the current situation. 5 Human beings are active in relation to the environment. These five contents describe human figures in situations of symbolic interaction. As in number 4, our actions fit into the current situation we think is due to the interaction. Interaction occurs not only in society but also in other communities, and all interactions that occur on the Internet, technology, and images are called "new media." It is a concept created by the development of online communities. But there are also people who oppose this theory of interaction. They argue that there is not enough content to verify the theory with the positio...

Week 10-2 Social network

Image
Social network 1. Summarize  Social network is a theory that studies relationships between individuals, groups, organizations, and societies. Social networks are phased out depending on how finely analyzed they are. Micro, meso, macro level. As a whole, the pattern is self-organizing and complex, so it becomes clear as the pattern grows in size. A large network has the same meaning as a "macro" used in society, behavioral science, and economics (computer network). Complex networks require skills in interpreting social complexity and complex adaptive systems. Representatively, it mainly describes what dual phase evolution contributes to the formation of structures. Social networks can be used to conduct research in various fields, including crime networks and demographics. Social networks combine with other areas to play many roles. Typically, there is social media. 2. Interesting You can also take care of your health by using social networks. It can prevent disease b...

Week 10-1 Introduction to Sociology_Social Structure

Image
Introduction to Social Structure 1. Summarize  A social structure refers to a lasting relationship between individuals and groups. The social structure can be largely divided into micro-organization and macro-social. Microorganisms do not have an individual's social structure, but macroscopic structures can have their own. It is divided into opinions that this structure was created naturally and socially constructed. Those who emphasized the former are said to have naturally formed through competition or conflict, while those who claim the latter are said to have been created by an economic system that seeks to maintain such power. What is important, no matter how it is constructed, is that the concept of social structure can mean prejudice, so it should be looked at and analyzed in various aspects. 2. Interesting The concept of social structure can point to systematic bias because it consists of many identifiable subparameters, for example, gender. Some men and women wit...

Week 9-2 Introduction to Sociology_Deviance

Image
Introduction to Deviance 1. Summarize  There are two types of departures. An official departure means an official violation of the law and typically involves criminal activity. Informal departures are not regulated by law, but there is an act of belching loudly with acts that may offend the other party. However, the two things vary considerably from culture to culture because they can vary depending on the law or the way society looks at them. To investigate socially defined methods of escape or to study them based on the origin, theory, etc. of escape. Among them, labeling theory means having the idea of an individual leaving when two things are happening. People insist that people are heterogeneous as a result of forcing and adopting roles and identities, for example, fathers and lovers. This is because it is reinterpreted by adopting identity that contradicts past behavior, which is called retrospective labeling. On the contrary, stigma that cannot be accepted socially due...

Week 9-1 Introduction to Sociology_Socialization

Introduction to Socialization 1. Summarize  Socialization had a goal. Controlling the impulse and developing conscience, preparing and performing roles in various institutions, and finally becoming a valuable and important object. Socialization is literally the process of preparing to live well in society. But socialization is relative, depending on what culture it has, race, class, gender, religious views, etc. Socialization of elementary school society is socialization in adulthood. Secondary socialization is a lifelong socialization depending on the person and environment they meet in their lives. Both socializations need interaction. Among the various situations and people who contribute the most to socialization are parents, guardians, friends, schools, brothers and sisters. But not all socialization is voluntary. Those who stay in prison have a place to socialize and conditions under which both people cannot positively influence. That's why it is considered a "space w...

Week 8-2 Government

Government 1. Summarize  The government consists of the legislature, the administration and the judiciary. The government mainly works to determine various policies. As mentioned earlier, there are many forms of government, and the simplest way to distinguish them is whether people have the authority to govern. Since we are a democratic country, we follow the majority opinion through voting, but the dictatorship is the opposite. One person is not affected by public control or restraint because he or she decides and exercises everything. A republic has more power than a sovereign. Consider it a 'public problem' and many of the people often control the government. The Republic is also classified into about four different types. Federalism is where members of a group are bound by covenants. It is said that it is mainly based on the color of democracy and that the power of governance is often shared, so the system called coalition is used. 2. Interesting As many countries re...

Week 8-1 Introduction to Sociology_Politics

Image
Introduction to Politics 1. Summarize  Politics means the process of making socio-economic decisions. In politics, 'power' has enormous power. Power is used interchangeably with authority, and its inherent meaning is different. In politics, power can distribute and manage labor and resources. It is also said that it has "power" mainly because it cannot resist the distributed results. Political groups are called governments, and there are many different kinds of governments. Our country is a government in the form of democracy, and the right to exercise sovereignty is not exercised by someone with power, but by the majority of the people. A monarchy is based on a monarchy, and it is a political way of operating in other countries, such as Britain and Thailand. It operates on the basis of the country's representatives, but it does not exercise political power indefinitely. There are different groups of people who express their opinions within different forms...

Midterm essay; Changes in Korean Society

Changes in Korean Society  Due to the recent covid-19, many countries have reached a difficult social period. The virus problem has not been solved yet and each country is making tremendous efforts. Korea has produced a diagnostic kit that can distinguish the virus from covid-19, which allows us to determine whether or not more quickly. Now, it has been belatedly provided with diagnostic kits made in Korea around the world to find out whether or not the virus has been infected. Sharing diagnostic kits is sure to be a positive factor to maintain external relations with the other country. Through the diagnosis kit, Korea has an opportunity to promote our country and expect to maintain positive relations between countries. The reason why mentioning this case is that the growth of Korean society has led to many changes both internally and externally in the country. In order to recognize changes in Korean society in terms of external aspects of the country, changes in extern...
