week 11-2 dramaturgy
Summary
dramarturgy are the sociological views commonly used in micro-social explanations of social interactions in everyday life. In dramatic sociology, it is argued that the elements of human interaction depend on time, place, and hearing. The dramatic view is one of several sociological paradigms separated from other sociological theories because it analyzes context rather than investigating the causes of human behavior. But this is socially controversial. In a dramatic model, social interactions are analyzed from the perspective of how people live their lives, just like actors who act on stage. This theory divides society into three stages. On the front stage, individuals perform actions consciously or unconsciously that fit their roles. On the backstage, we know that people are free to perform unacceptable actions on the front stage. That is, backstage is where people relax and act. Outside or offstage is a place where an individual is not involved in the performance. These sociological performances need to stop the audience from getting any information. For this purpose, special roles such as secrets and roles are created. However, It has been argued that dramaturgy should only be applied in instances that involve people associated with a total institution.
interesting
The content of this theory itself, which described society as a stage, was quite interesting. This document aroused my interest in sociological drama.
discussion
Can we substitute our actions with this theory?
