W11-1 :: Symbolic interactionism

1. Summary
This article describes the symbolic interaction. The theory of symbolic interaction develops on the premise that the meaning of an action is symbolically identified within the social context. That is, how individuals interact, and in return, how the world shapes behavior. Most symbolic interactionist scholars believe that individuals respond indirectly to reality through a kind of thing consisting of different perspectives. In other words, humans do not exist in physical spaces composed of reality, but in a world composed of things.

2. Interesting
It was interesting to argue that symbolic interaction theory could be used to describe one's identity. Symbolic interaction theory is divided into three categories – location, personal and social. Through this experience, people want to differentiate themselves from others, and personal identity is established.

3. Discussion
But symbolic interactionists are overly impressionist and unsystematic. That is, rather than one established theory, it is only one argument that supports other theories.
