Week 11-2_[what is more important: the actions of individuals or the environment that influences them?]

I think individuals are more important than the environment. Of course, the environment will also have a great impact on individuals, but I think individual power is more powerful.

For example, if we look at the process of democratization in Korea, the environment was really at its worst due to the dictatorship and oppression of the nation, but the individual people thought and joined forces to change the country and the background. As I tend to think that there is nothing I can't do if my personal efforts are combined, I think that individual actions are more important.

Sum mary   Deviation refers to the act of violating cultural norms. Violating the law is usually called an official deviation, and the act of violating informal social norms is called an informal deviation. Deviation can vary considerably depending on culture. Deviations defined by sociologists have many forms. Merton suggested a type of deviant behavior. According to him, the type of deviation is presented based on two criteria. The first condition is the adherence to personal motivation or cultural goals. The second condition is the individual's belief in how to achieve the goal. By selecting these conditions as Yes or No, there are four types and one additional type. The four types appear to be suitability, innovation, realism, and retro. One additional type is "rebellion," which refers to an individual rejecting both cultural goals and means of achievement, replacing or creating new means and goals. Dramaturgy (Sociology)

1. Summary -       Dramaturgy is a sociological perspective commonly used in micro-social explanations of social interactions in everyday life. In drama sociology, it is argued that the elements of human interaction depend on time, place and courtesy. The dramatic view is one of several sociological paradigms separate from other sociological theories because it analyzes context rather than examining the causes of human behavior. In the dramatic model, social interaction is analyzed in such a way that people live their lives like actors acting on stage. There are also seven important factors identified by Goffman regarding performance.
