Make up classes_1. Introduction to Sociology/Technology, the Internet, and Virtual Worlds

1. Summary

Technology is a new field of research in social science. Technology is a collection of methods and processes used to create goods and services, or to achieve any goal. A typical example of modern technology is cell phones. Cell phones have brought many changes to our lives. For example, there was a discourse on whether it was desirable to talk on a cell phone in public places. This has led to the development of new social norms as well. Another example is that people rely heavily on cell phones. Cell phones allow you to solve different kinds of things at once, such as maps, cameras, handheld game consoles and alarm clocks. So people are increasingly relying on cell phones.

2. Interesting

The content related to social networks was the most interesting to me. Because I use social network actively. This article says that social networks have the advantage of keeping in touch with distant acquaintances. But it is also said to be used as a tool to record actions that can cause problems in a person's life in the future. It's because they don't want to feel alienated from social groups that someone has to post socially criticized behavior on social networks. And they lose time from work and study because they spend time on social networks.

3. Discussion

How much do you use social networks? Do you agree with the advantages and disadvantages of social networks mentioned above? Tell me about the new strengths and weaknesses that you think.
