Make up classes_2. Introduction to Sociology/Demography

1. Summary

Demographics is a study of how populations change over time. Since demographic analysis is a powerful tool for explaining many sociological phenomena, sociologists should first consider demographic indicators before proposing complex theories when describing social phenomena. Demographics rely primarily on large datasets derived from census and registration statistics such as birth, death, and marriage registration. Demographics also focus on indicators of specific changes because they are interested in changes in the human population. The most important indicators are birth and death rates.

2. Interesting

I found the story of overpopulation interesting. Overpopulation refers to a scenario in which the population of a species exceeds the capacity of an ecological niche market. This is the number of individuals compared to the resources needed for survival, not the function of density. In other words, this is the ratio. When estimating overpopulated ecological gaps, resources to consider include clean water, food, shelter, and warmth. The characteristics of overpopulation include child poverty, high birth rates, lower life expectations, low levels of literacy, especially high unemployment in cities, insufficient arable land, poor diet with few surplus food, health and dietary disorders, low GDP, increased government economic pressures, and increased crime rates.

3. Discussion

Do you think there are too many people in the world? So what can we do?
