Week 13-2. Introduction to Sociology/Race and Ethnicity

1. Summary

Race is a group of humans considered to be in some way distinct from other humans on the basis of actual or imagined physical relationships. Racial classification is based on the biological classification of humans by morphological characteristics such as skin color or facial characteristics. The best way to understand race is to understand that socially constructed boundaries overlap with biological/genetic elements. By understanding the overlap between the two, we gain a better understanding of race.

2. Interesting

The content of racism was impressive. This is because black racism has recently become a big issue around the world recently. There are four examples of racism. First, race is a major determinant of human ability. Second, certain races are inherently superior or inferior to others. Third, individuals should be treated differently according to their racial classifications. Fourth, the act of treating individuals differently according to race.

3. Discussion

Recently, there has been a lot of talk in Korea about the issue of racial discrimination in black. Someone is angry with the black people, but someone else is angry at them for discriminating against Asians. What is your position?
