Week 8-3 : Do you like the idea of internet voting? Why or why not?
-Electronic voting system has several advantages and disadvantages. First of all, transcending spatial constraints is the biggest advantage of electronic voting. It saves locals from having to gather in one place at a given time. This means that the Korean people don't have to take risks to vote during the last election that covid-19 virus break out. It also has the advantage of reducing the time and administration costs for voting. There is no need to check the ballots individually, so the cost for the election will be reduced. The turnout of voters is likely to increase because the time and economic costs of an individual for elections will also decrease. There is also the potential for advances in electronic voting related technologies.
However, electronic voting also has its drawbacks. Basically, there is a risk that the election results will be manipulated due to risks such as hacking. In addition, there is a concern that voting will be paralyzed overall by hacking, such as the intentional distribution of electronic viruses in the voting process. In addition, there are practical difficulties for seniors to manipulate electronic devices to vote in a new way called electronic voting. It is highly likely that the principle of secret election among the four principles of election will not be kept in the process of helping elderly people around them.
I think that electronic voting should be conducted after the technology to compensate for these shortcomings is prepared. In addition, it would be a good idea to introduce a dual system that people who have difficulty in handling electronic devices such as elders vote offline, and others vote online.

I agree with the many shortcomings of the electronic voting you wrote. I think it's good to think that the secret election principles could be undermined in the process of helping older people who are relatively unfamiliar with electronic voting. I thought they would be left out of the voting process.
