1. Summarize in my own words of materials I read.

  New research areas on social science focus on technologies including mobile phones, video games, virtual worlds, social network services and digital media. Technology is a collection of techniques and methods used to achieve goals, such as the production of goods or services, and scientific research. These technologies can be built into machines, computers, devices, factories, etc. Technology mainly means knowledge that facilitates production, but technology products can also be technology that helps promote the production of products and services. The process used to make cars is also a form of technology.
One of the most popular technologies people use is smart phones. The introduction of this technology has brought many changes to society. No longer requires a landline phone, so we can communicate anytime, anywhere. Smart phones have also brought about many social customs. We can easily see the phenomenon of using a phones while walking and even when people are with their friends. People's reliance on smart phone use has also increased significantly compared to before. Advances in technology can do many other things besides currency, which has played a major role in increasing dependence on smart phones.
2. Mention of any new, interesting or unusual items learned.

  With the development of smartphones, social networks have also made a big impact on our society. This has many advantages, but it is also subject to much discussion, such as damage to personal information leakage and correct posting, in that my post is accessible to a large number of others. These social network services can also be linked to various research topics. For example, differences in behavior on the Internet, online and offline can be important research.
3. Identify at least one question, concern, or discussion angle that is either problematic in some respect or could have been elaborated more.

 The negative effects of video games are one of the topics that have really been discussed. In particular, the argument that violent video games are more aggressive has led to many studies. The fact that technology development does not always have such a good effect seems to be the most important topic to think about.

However, since the name of this class is ‘ Invitation to Sociology ’ and the class is run in English, I am expecting to deal issues that are not only limited nationally, but also international issues, which might be hard to cover in other classes that run in Korean. I also guess that by using English to search information, I would be able to find much more information compared to researching in Korean. 1. Summary  Sociology is the study of what activities and thoughts human beings have as members of society. They are also interested in the structure of society and have a welfare system in place From small to big, the areas that society deals with vary. Sociological imagination allows individuals to deviate from self-centered perspectives and view the world as a common entity. This can interest others in their situations and encourage them to directly address the problem. A Short Summary of ‘ Introduction to Sociology/Sociological Methods’ This part of the book is about the methods employed in sociology and some standards of the methods and what it tells us. In scientific methods, there are four steps. Characterization, hypothesis, prediction and testing. For the best prediction in scientific methods, we need to know the correct relationship between correlation and causation. It is important not to mistake correlation and causation. Also, quantitative and qualitative methods are two different approaches of sociological research. Depending on how we approach, we can classify objective approach, critical approach and subjective approach. Overall, it is important to obey ethics.
