Week 10-1 Introduction to Sociology / social structure

Summary

Social structure means grouping by function or purpose. Race, class, disability, gender, etc. can be seen as a measure of social structure division. Social structure was studied from the beginning by scholars such as Karl Marx, Herbert Spencer, Max Webber, Ferdinand Tunis, and Emil Durkhem, and then developed extensively in the 20th century by the research of Claude Levi Strauss, feminist, Marxist views, and Talcott Parsons de. Some people believe that the social structure has developed naturally. This is because there has been a demand for a larger system due to the development of society and competition among political parties. The concept of social structure can conceal systematic prejudice. For example, men and women with the same qualifications may claim that they are treated differently at work because of their gender. However, there may be other variables hidden in this, such as working hours.
