Week 10-3 Can we think of other examples of role strain or conflict, particularly in the Korean context?
-The typical role conflict seen in Korea today is easily seen in working parents using maternity leave. Parents working in Korea find it difficult to combine infant care and work. So, parents who work in Korea want to use parental leave as a parent for raising their young children. At the same time, however, they are reluctant to take parental leave to maintain his position at work and to promote. In fact, in South Korea, when you return from a parental leave to work, your status is not often preserved at work. This is often reported in the news. In this case, they may be asked to leave the company implicitly. Working parents who are aware of this situation are wondering whether they should take parental leave to focus on raising their child or not to use parental leave to avoid losing their jobs as office worker. However, it is not that we do not understand the position of the company whose purpose is to pursue profit. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the government's policies to take account of the relevant situation and properly support it.
