Week 11_ Dramaturgy (sociology)
1. Summary
Dramaturgy is a sociological perspective commonly used in microbiological explanations of social interaction in everyday life. dramaturgical sociology argues that elements of human interaction depend on time, place, and audience. In other words, to Gofman, ego is a sense of who you are, a dramatic effect that appears in the very scene being presented. The stage he talks about refers to areas where individuals can be distinguished based on different roles or information, and is divided into three categories: Front stage, back stage, outside. Polarity behavior is a social act that is shown to others and designed to improve one's public self-image.
2. Interesting
It was impressive that dramaturgical sociology could be applied to all aspects of theatrical performers. The metaphor of the theater can be seen from the Latin word Persona, which means "mask worn by actors." We behave differently in front of people (the audience). My favorite singer, BTS, has also made music with this theme. I felt a little sad.
3. Discussion
Celebrities have to act without showing themselves in public. This is because the public criticizes them even if they make a little mistake. What are the ways to solve this?
