Week 11: Symbolic interactionism

1. Summary
Symbolic interaction is a sociological theory that suggests people's use of certain dialects to develop from practical considerations and to produce images and normal meaning for connection and communication with others. Repetitive interactions between individuals help us understand how society is preserved and created. Because individuals act on the premise of a common understanding of meaning within the social context, interactions and behaviors are organized through the common meaning that objects and concepts are attached to them.
Most symbolic interactionists believe that physical reality actually exists by individual social justice and that social justice has evolved in relation to something real. This means that humans exist in an object-only world, not in a physical space composed of reality.
And social interaction has three premises. First, humans act toward things based on their meaning. Second, the meaning of such things stems from or arises from social interaction with other people and society. Third, meaning is addressed and modified in the interpretation process used to deal with the things he/she meets. And there are five central ideas.
The central theme of symbolic interaction is human-Agency, interactive decision, symbolization, and emergence.
However, symbolic interactionists are often criticized for being overly impressive in their methods of study and somewhat unsystematic in theory. And symbolic interactionists have established the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction (SSSI) for their research. It is an international professional organization for scholars interested in symbolic interaction research.

2. Interesting
I found it interesting that language plays an important role in symbolic interaction. It was interesting that most people interpret things according to their tasks and purposes, and that interaction occurs when something's meaning is identified in the process. Communication is an important factor in symbolic interaction because it is related to language.

3. Discussion
Are you positive or negative about claims to symbolic interactions?
