Make Up 1. Introduction to Sociology/Technology, the Internet, and Virtual Worlds

1. Summary

This article talks about what has become possible due to the development of technology. Technology is a collection of technologies, methods, or processes used to achieve goals, such as the production of goods or services or scientific research. One of the best known examples of technology is cell phones. If you use a mobile phone, you can make a phone call even if you don't have a phone line. Now that the technology is well known, most people in developed countries use it. These mobile phones have changed social customs. For example, informal social norms have been developed regarding the use of cell phones in public situations. Also, the use of cell phones has changed social life, which means that people have become more dependent on these phones and technologies.
With the development of such mobile phones and computers, social networks have also developed. While social networks have many advantages, such as developing business networks or keeping in touch with friends and family members living far away, criticism that flattened social networks also provides a history of unpleasant behavior that can cause problems in one's life.
Another example is video games, which have the advantage of improving visual attention, but there are still concerns that violent video games may increase aggression. Also, the correlation between violent video games and aggression is not meaningless, so you should be more careful.

2. Interesting

I was shocked to see in a recent study that women who posted sexual Facebook profile photos were rated less physically attractive, less socially attractive and less capable of completing missions than women who did not post sexual photos. I think the boundaries that can be ruled as sexual photographs are unclear. In the meantime, I just posted a picture that I wanted to upload in a free SNS space, but the fact that I have to be evaluated by someone else seems to be a little mixed regardless of gender. (Of course I know that posting unhealthy content can be like posting harmful content to others.)

3. Discuss

It is certain that people are increasingly dependent on the technology of mobile phones. So is this bad because it is degrading human abilities? Should we not rely on cell phone technology?

1. Summary  Sociology is the study of what activities and thoughts human beings have as members of society. They are also interested in the structure of society and have a welfare system in place From small to big, the areas that society deals with vary. Sociological imagination allows individuals to deviate from self-centered perspectives and view the world as a common entity. This can interest others in their situations and encourage them to directly address the problem. A Short Summary of ‘ Introduction to Sociology/Sociological Methods’ This part of the book is about the methods employed in sociology and some standards of the methods and what it tells us. In scientific methods, there are four steps. Characterization, hypothesis, prediction and testing. For the best prediction in scientific methods, we need to know the correct relationship between correlation and causation. It is important not to mistake correlation and causation. Also, quantitative and qualitative methods are two different approaches of sociological research. Depending on how we approach, we can classify objective approach, critical approach and subjective approach. Overall, it is important to obey ethics.
