Week 8-2. (EXTRA) Is modern democracy really "the will of the people"?

Is modern democracy really "the will of the people"?

As a Korean, if you look at the situation and history of Korea, I can say yes. Korea is a country run by the will of the people(citizen). If state affairs aren't properly managed, the president, the head of the state, can be impeached. Also suggestions or reports on unfair or unjust cases can be made through '국민 청원(national petition)'; board that can tell complaints to the president and the government.

But, I don't really know about whole of modern society. It's too various range. I'm not sure if it's going in a good direction or not.
