week 8-2 Government

summary

A government is a system that governs a country or community. In the early days of human civilization, the government had a group of tribal chiefs and senior tribal members who helped him in the form of a committee. Since the end of the 17th century, the spread of republican forms of government has increased due to the British Honorary Revolution, the American Revolution, and the French Revolution. In the 19th and 20th centuries, there has been considerable progress in the scale of government at the national level. The forms of government include dictatorship, Aristocrisy, democracy, and federalism. Dictatorship is a form of government in which the highest power is concentrated in one person's hands and is not affected by legal restraints or public control. Aristocrisy is a form of government that grants power to the small privileged. Democracy is a government system in which citizens exercise power through voting. Democracy includes direct democracy, representative democracy and constitutional democracy. Direct democracy is a form of direct rule by citizens, and representative democracy elects their representatives to govern. Constitutional democracy has a majority of power exercised within the framework of representative democracy, but the constitution limits the majority and protects the minority through rights. The economic system includes democracy, communism, distributionism, feudalism, socialism, politicalism, welfare state, etc.

interesting

In fact, it was interesting that many countries still do not see the benefits of democracy, although Korea did not realize it because democracy is well developed. In particular, almost all of the African countries (except the Republic of South Africa) and some Southeast Asian countries are in a system that can hardly be called democracy.

discussion

Why is it that only South Africa among African countries maintains a high democracy index?
