Week 10-2 Social Network

10-2

1. Summary

Various social structures come together to form a social network. Here, social networks are theoretical concepts used in social science to study relationships between individuals, groups, and the whole society. You can understand social interaction through social networks. An interdisciplinary approach is needed to analyze these social networks and their structured patterns. An eminent sociologist, Dürchem, explains that when an individual interacts with another (other group), the individual's behavior must be understood as a social activity. Scholars analyze these social networks by dividing them into micro, meso, and macro levels.

First of all, microscopic analysis begins with small groups of individuals, including individual. Microscopic analysis is divided into a Triadic level and a subset level, in addition to the Dyadic level, which describes the social relationship between two individuals, and the actor level, which studies the smallest analytical unit of the individual. Second, Meso-level analysis understands social networks by analyzing populations that are the size between micro and macro. Meso-level research analyzes the formal organization that serves the group's goals. In addition, at this level of research, randomly distributed networks that understand the structural effects of social networks are in progress. Finally, macroscopic analysis tracks the outcome of interactions with large populations. Large-scale networks and complex networks are macro-level network studies. Various groups study these social networks. Examples are Communication, Community, Complex networks, Diffusion of innovations, Demography, Economic sociology, Health care, Human ecology, Language and linguistics, Literary networks, Organizational studies, Social capital, Advertising, Network position and benefits, Social media, etc.
