Topics in Sociology_Deviance
1. Summarize in my own words of materials I read.
Deviations are in violation of social expectations leading to cultural human behavior, which divided into 1) formal deviance 2) informal deviance. Formal deviance is a criminal act, including a violation of the law. Examples include robbery, theft, rape, murder and assault. Informal development refers to informal social norms that are not classified by law. Examples include picking your nose and burping loudly. This deviations can vary from culture to culture. Just as cultural norms were relative.

Recent studies include "video games and deviance," "tattoos," and "sexual prosperity on college camps." Among them, I would like to summarize the research on tattoos. According to 2003 statistics, 15 percent of the adult population in the United States has tattoos more than one on their body. According to the article, tattoos are a complex picture of complex phenomena, referring to men and women getting tattoos to improve the sex of each gender. In the early 1900s, tattoos were so branded that they were used as evidence of malicious intent and distrust.
These days, however, more and more tattoos have their own meaning. A case used to express oneself or commemorate an event. Thus, the social meaning of tattoos is changing. The stigma caused by tattoos is not as extreme as it used to be.

2. Mention of any new, interesting or unusual items learned.
The most powerful and memorable theory I think of among the various theories of deviance is 'Labeling Theory'. This happens in two situations. 1) Where the view and gaze of deviation by other people is written on the individual 2) In the case of they adopt the label, while doing behaviors, actions, and activities related to deviance
The important element of this theory is the idea of stigma. This refers to the situation of an individual who has been completely disqualified from society, dishonor, or a mark of figures is placed on an individual. A good example of this labeling theory is posting the identity of sex offenders on the Internet.

3. Identify at least one question, concern, or discussion angle that is either problematic in some respect or could have been elaborated more.
-1. Except for criminal acts, if no social expectations are given to human behavior, how will each individual affect society?
-2. If a person belongs to several groups and each group has different social expectations, how much confusion does an individual feel? What is the possibility of personal deviation due to this confusion?
