Week 9: Why pink is related to girls ?


I used to think that pink is a color that suits women and blue is a color that suits men. So, when we give a child's clothes or items as gifts, we often give the girl pink clothes or items that have the feeling of a princess, and the boys give the boy blue clothes or items that have the feeling of a prince. And when there is a sign that distinguishes men's and women's bathrooms, you can see that women's bathrooms are painted pink and men's bathrooms are painted blue. These things have been around in our lives since we were too young, so we got used to them, and as we grew up, we learned that they were stereotypes about sex. In fact, pink is not the color of women or girls, but the color of everyone who likes it. I used pink a lot as a symbol of women, so it looks like a color related to women, but when I looked at it with adult eyes, I found out that there were many men who liked pink clothes and liked pink, and I thought I should throw away the stereotypes related to color. I am a woman, but I prefer blue to pink. Like this, colors do not represent women and men, but just their tastes. Pink is not a color related to women.

Probably, I expect most of the students taking this class will answer similarly. I am taking this class to enhance my English skills as well as to improve my social knowledge. 1. Summary  Sociology is the study of what activities and thoughts human beings have as members of society. They are also interested in the structure of society and have a welfare system in place From small to big, the areas that society deals with vary. Sociological imagination allows individuals to deviate from self-centered perspectives and view the world as a common entity. This can interest others in their situations and encourage them to directly address the problem. W2-2 Introduction to Sociology/Sociological Methods

A Short Summary of ‘ Introduction to Sociology/Sociological Methods’ This part of the book is about the methods employed in sociology and some standards of the methods and what it tells us. In scientific methods, there are four steps. Characterization, hypothesis, prediction and testing. For the best prediction in scientific methods, we need to know the correct relationship between correlation and causation. It is important not to mistake correlation and causation. Also, quantitative and qualitative methods are two different approaches of sociological research. Depending on how we approach, we can classify objective approach, critical approach and subjective approach. Overall, it is important to obey ethics.
