WK 8.2 Government – Hanane Ben Abdeslam

The government belongs to everyone, always and everywhere. From the birth declaration to the law on funeral services, from encouraging theater attendance to combating serious crime. In many areas, the government takes measures, legislates and supervises compliance. In many other areas, the government plays a more cautious role, but only sets general conditions. For example, consultation on wages and working conditions is left to employers and unions. And an organization or association of parents can set up a school within certain limits. A government also refers to the system or group of people governing an organized community, often a state. Each government has a different kind of constitution, a statement of its governing principles and philosophy. The philosophy is a balance between the principle of individual freedom and the idea of absolute state authority. Furthermore, most political systems originated as socioeconomic ideologies. Experience with those movements in power and the strong ties they may have to particular forms of government can cause them to be considered as forms of government in themselves. For example, socialism, a social-economic system in which workers, democratically and socially own the means of production, which they can manage themselves.

After the reading I did my research on the government of my home country and I’ve learned that we have a parliamentary democracy. The parliament, has the final say. Our government also consists of a government with a head of state, which is our king or queen from the Netherlands. However, the people in the province (the provincial states) and administrators of the province (Deputies and King’s Commissioners) are also part of the government. Just as the representatives of the people.

Which type of government is used in your country, and do you think it is better than the others or not?
