Make up class-2 Introduction to Sociology_Demography

Introduction to Demography

1. Summarize

Human statics is the study of the size, structure and distribution of the population and how it changes over time due to birth, death, migration and aging. Why should we be aware of demographics? Demographics is a powerful tool for explaining various sociological phenomena. Before talking about complex theories to illustrate macro social phenomena, sociologists should first use demographic indicators for possible explanations. Demographics are mainly based on data derived from census and statistics. Statisticians focus primarily on changes in the population, so they are interested in specific indicators to prove changes. Two of the most important indicators are birth and death rates, and they also analyze migration trends and changes in people moving to other regions. It is important to note that statistical understanding of social structures and patterns is changing, mainly because it is difficult to achieve accurate numerical values.

2. Interesting

As can be seen from the birth rate and death rate, the age of great aging is now maintained. The birth rate has dropped significantly, with people of relatively older ages accounting for a large portion of the total population. For this purpose, there are protective facilities for the elderly and places to manage, such as Silver Town, but if this condition is maintained, it will no longer be able to handle what was previously prepared. It is good to live a longer life and a smaller death rate than in the past, but we will have to deal with it in various ways. Furthermore, I think there is a need to raise the birth rate as soon as possible with better policies and social atmosphere that can increase the birth rate.

3. Discussion

Is there any way to increase the birth rate?
