Make up class-2 Introduction to Sociology/Demography
Summary
Demographics is the study of population dynamics. This study also includes studies of population changes over time. Demographic analysis is a powerful tool for explaining many sociological phenomena. Demographics rely primarily on large-scale data derived from census. The most important indicators of population statistics are birth and death rates. The demographic change is a model and theory that explains the change from high birth rate and death rate to low birth and death rate that occurs as part of a country's economic development. In pre-industrial societies, both birth and death rates are high, so population growth is relatively slow. In industrialization, population development is faster because birth rates are relatively higher than death rates, and in post-industrial societies, both birth rates and mortality rates are lower. Overpopulation refers to a scenario in which the population of a species exceeds the capacity of an ecological niche market. Simply put, the limited number of resources does not support an overcrowded population. The negative effects of overpopulation include poor health of the population, an increase in crime rates and the mass extinction of animals and plants. Urbanization is the physical growth of urban areas as a result of global change. Urbanization is also defined by the United Nations as the movement of people from rural to urban areas with the same population growth as urban migration. The reason for urbanization is the movement of people to find economic opportunities.
interesting
It was amazing that there were a lot of areas in demographics. And the kind of dilemma in the solution to overpopulation was interesting.
discussion
The movie character that offered the solution to overpopulation is Thanos. But why isn't this the right solution?
