Week 12-2. Social inequality

Social inequality

Summary
Social inequality is found in almost every society. Social inequality is formed by various structural factors, such as geographical location or civil rights status. Social inequality can be very low if there are few social roles and positions of members in a simple society. Social inequality can be classified as an equal society, a ranking society, and a stratified society. There is no discrimination because an equal society advocates social equality through equal opportunities and rights. People with special skills were not considered superior to others. The norms and beliefs of an egalitarian society are to share equal and equal participation.
Class societies are mostly hierarchically grouped communities. This society gathers about status and reputation. A stratified society is a society that is horizontally classified into the upper, middle, and lower classes. Let's look at examples of social inequality. Social inequality includes income gaps, gender inequality, health care and social classes. Gender inequality is to treat men and women differently because of men and women by sharing labor, granting roles, granting responsibilities and assigning social rewards. Gender discrimination, called sexism, is a major cause of social inequality. Racial or ethnic inequality is the result of hierarchical social differences between racial and racial categories within society and is often based on characteristics such as skin color and other physical characteristics or individual origin or culture. Nationality is a privilege enjoyed by people in a particular ethnic group. There are countless social inequalities in society.

Discussion
What are some ways to alleviate inequality?

Comments

  1. The biggest way that I think is to alleviate inequality is to establish 'law' at the national level. You may use a non-forceful method, but I don't think it will change easily.
