Week 13-4 What is expected of men and women in home and workplace?



Long ago in Korea, there were people who thought that men should not go into the kitchen. Some older people who have been affected by them still have that idea. In other words, it is thought that women should be in charge of work at home and men should work in workplace. This is definitely a wrong idea.

Based on the current flow and mood, we can see that there is a contradiction in the question itself. I think it is right for people to decide their roles and act according to their aptitudes, not men and women, rather than the roles given at home and work.

    I think the same with you. I think that roles in home and work should be selected according to the personal aptitude. Unfortunately, we still force gender roles in our society. I think it is a pity to take this for granted. This is definitely wrong and I think it needs to change.

1. Summary  Sociology is the study of what activities and thoughts human beings have as members of society. They are also interested in the structure of society and have a welfare system in place From small to big, the areas that society deals with vary. A Short Summary of ‘ Introduction to Sociology/Sociological Methods’ This part of the book is about the methods employed in sociology and some standards of the methods and what it tells us. In scientific methods, there are four steps. Characterization, hypothesis, prediction and testing. For the best prediction in scientific methods, we need to know the correct relationship between correlation and causation. It is important not to mistake correlation and causation. Also, quantitative and qualitative methods are two different approaches of sociological research.
