Week 13_ Introduction to Sociology/Race and Ethnicity
1. Summary
Race is a group of humans considered to be distinguished from other humans in some way based on actual or imagined physical differences. Racial classification is rooted in the biological classification of humans according to morphological features such as skin color and facial characteristics. Racism is a race in which human abilities are determined by race, in which certain races exist that are perceived to be superior or inferior to other races, and as a result are treated differently or discriminated against according to their racial classification. The world has long sought to end discrimination in recognition because racism is a basic violation of human rights. Ethnicity refers to social characteristics shared by a population, not physical characteristics, although related to race. Unlike race, ethnicity is usually not assigned by other individuals externally. The term ethnicity focuses more on the group's connection to the perceived shared past and culture.
2. Interesting
Both prejudice and bias are generally considered negative. However, some sociologists have argued that prejudice and prejudice can be seen as a human adaptation that promotes survival. I thought prejudice was unconditionally negative, but this was interesting.
3. Discussion

Demonstrations are taking place in the wake of the white police's oversuppression of black people. There is solidarity all over the world against racial discrimination. However, the black people's looting and riots are also a problem. What do you think about this case?
